HAIRCARE ROUTINE
I first detangle my hair, wash my hair, do a deep conditioner treatment and then moisturise using the LOC method. Then I decide if I wanna braid it or twist it. Today, what I did was… last night I twisted it, untwisted it. Put it in a puff and that’s it.
I big-chopped. I literally woke up one day and I was like I don’t want my relaxed hair and cut it all off. I didn’t like it because my hair was short, but the short hair… the journey felt amazing.
If I was stranded on a desert island, I’d take a leave in conditioner, because it’s a mixture of leave in and water, so it wouldn’t dry out too quickly.
I hardly ever protective style, but if I do, it’s box braids. I ask my mom to do them, I don’t trust salons. Like I have a phobia. If I ever go to the salon, I take a shampoo that I know works for me, deep conditioner and heat protectant if they’re going to blow dry my hair. I blow dry my hair probably 3 times a year.
I want to let my kids grow their hair how they would like to grow their hair. I want them to decide if they want to relax their hair. I would teach them to genuinely love themselves the way they are.
SKIN CARE ROUTINE
I come from a family that is just flourishing, but I do have dry skin. In the evening, I’m lazy, I just wanna sleep. In the morning, I wash my face and then use a toner and go in with grapeseed oil and end off with Epimax because I have eczema. My secret tip for healthy skin is to drink water. Keep your skin hydrated.
MAKE UP
I prefer the natural look to the slay queen look. Lipgloss works for me. I don’t wear foundation, I wear BB Cream – Black Radiance True Complexion. I have a fear, if I wear foundation, I’ll start getting pimples, so I just stick to something that’s really lightweight. For highlighter, I don’t like too much or too little, but it makes your skin popping.
SELF-CARE
I’m studying Bcom Accounting at varsity. When I get home after a long week, I watch Friends or Grey’s Anatomy. You know, the way people comfort eat? I comfort watch. It just makes me feel better.
